🏛️A Trip Down Memory Lane - Hayashi on Sydney Weekender 25 Years Ago 🏛️

There’s something special about revisiting the past—especially when it’s filled with laughter, celebration, and unforgettable dining experiences.

About 25 years ago, Hayashi Teppanyaki was featured on Sydney Weekender, with the ever-charismatic Sophie Faulkiner taking viewers inside the vibrant world of teppanyaki dining. For many, it was their very first glimpse into the excitement, theatrics, and warmth that define the Hayashi experience.

Back then, the flames were just as high, the laughter just as loud, and the sense of occasion just as strong. Families gathered around the grill, chefs turned cooking into performance, and every meal became a memory in the making. That feature captured more than just a restaurant—it captured a feeling. A moment in time when dining out was about connection, joy, and shared experiences.

Fast forward 25 years, and while so much has changed, the heart of Hayashi remains the same. The same energy, the same commitment to creating something memorable, and the same belief that food should bring people together in the most joyful way possible.

We’d love to invite you to take a step back in time with us. Watch the footage, relive those moments, and perhaps even spot a familiar face or two. Whether you were there in those early days or are discovering it for the first time, this is a chance to reminisce, reflect, and celebrate how far we’ve come.

Because sometimes, the best way to move forward… is to take a little trip down memory lane.

To our amazing customers and community — thank you. Your support over the past 30 years has made moments like this possible. Whether you’ve celebrated a birthday with us, enjoyed a family night out, or simply dropped in for a great meal, you are part of our story.

Here’s to continuing the show — both on and off the grill 🔥
